Description: We stayed at this lovely B&B while vacationing with my sister-in-law and her husband. We chose this Wellsboro farm bed and breakfast because it was a convenient jumping off place to visit Pennsylvania’s Grand Canyon. What we found there was a warm welcome and a comfortable place to stay. I love the story of how the place got its name – it’s basically a joke. Arvgarden means “inheritance farm” in Swedish – but not because inheritance money was used to build it. It reflects what the couple’s children said upon hearing about their parents’ plan to invest savings and retirement money to build the place. They said, “you realize you’re spending our inheritance”. Then, instead of letting guilt quash their plans, the parents used the children’s comments to inspire their business’s name. I hope you enjoy this piece as much as we enjoyed staying there.
